Lee Kwang Beom 100% Korean toasted sesame oil

100% Korea-grown. Family-crafted since 1989.

[Lee Kwang Beom] 100% Korean Toasted Sesame Oil

  • 100% Korea-grown sesame
  • Slow-roasted under 170°C
  • 1 ingredient
  • Small-batch pressed

Today, we're excited to introduce one of the finest artisan sesame oils you'll find in Korea: Lee Kwang Beom 100% Korean Toasted Sesame Oil (이광범 명가 괴산전통참기름).

For more than 35 years, Mr. Lee Kwang Beom and his wife have dedicated themselves to cultivating premium sesame seeds, perilla seeds and Korean red chili peppers in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, a region renowned for its clean water, fertile soil and exceptional agricultural heritage.

Unlike many sesame oils made with imported seeds, every bottle is crafted from 100% Korea-grown sesame seeds sourced exclusively from local farmers in Goesan. From cultivation and harvesting to pressing and bottling, Mr. Lee oversees every step to ensure quality, complete traceability and authentic Korean flavor.

Mr. Lee also believes that great sesame oil begins with gentle roasting. While many commercial producers roast sesame seeds at temperatures approaching 270°C (518°F), he slowly roasts his seeds below 170°C (338°F). This lower-temperature process helps preserve the seeds' natural nutrients while developing the rich aroma, deep nutty flavor and clean finish that define premium Korean sesame oil.

Rather than producing oil in large industrial batches, he presses it in small batches to preserve freshness and quality. The result is a vibrant, aromatic sesame oil with a rich roasted flavor that elevates everything from bibimbap and japchae to namul and simple bowls of steamed rice.

Whether you're finishing a classic Korean dish or adding depth to everyday cooking, this is the sesame oil Korean home cooks reach for.

Delicious

Simply delicious. It’s toasted and tastes very nutty. Love to have it with rice and meats. Recommended!

Premium Quality

Yes, this is one pricey bottle of sesame seed oil. It’s because it’s PREMIUM quality and the ingredients are 100% from Korea. (It’s really hard to find sesame oils that use 100% ingredients from Korea; if you read the find prints, you will see that others add ingredients from other countries for some unusual reason.) I bought the small bottle (160 ml) and yes, it’s small— finished it in a week. It’s that delicious! Not sure if I can purchase it again due to the price but it was definitely worth experiencing.

Made with 100% Korean-grown sesame seeds from farmers in Goesan County, slow-roasted at under 170°C (338°F) to preserve their natural nutrients, and pressed fresh in small batches.

Why Taeseong Foods sesame oil is different: Korean seeds, roasted under 170°C

Why Taeseong Foods sesame oil is different

Every seed is Korean-grown, sourced only from farmers in Goesan County. Taeseong Foods believes in complete transparency, so you always know exactly where your ingredients come from.

Many sesame oils are roasted at around 270°C (518°F) before pressing. Taeseong Foods takes a gentler approach: the seeds are slow-roasted below 170°C (338°F) to better preserve their natural nutrients while developing a rich, balanced aroma.

Before roasting, the seeds are thoroughly washed to remove impurities. This also helps minimize the unwanted compounds that can form during high-temperature roasting. Only then are the seeds traditionally pressed.

Taeseong Foods is not a mass-production factory. Rather than producing and storing large quantities, it presses small batches after orders come in whenever possible, so your oil arrives at its freshest.

Pesticide-free sesame field in Goesan and the washing, roasting and pressing process

Grown pesticide-free

Taeseong Foods makes its sesame oil from pesticide-free Korean sesame seeds, grown with environmentally friendly farming. The company oversees every step, from cultivation and harvest to pressing and bottling.

After harvest, the seeds are cleaned of dust, stones and other impurities, then carefully roasted and traditionally pressed. Once pressed, the oil is filtered one final time to remove any remaining sediment, for a cleaner, smoother finish with exceptional clarity and flavor.

Delicious ways to use it

Bibimbap: the finishing touch that brings everything together with its signature nutty flavor.

Aglio e olio: a drizzle adds a Korean twist and extra depth of flavor.

Salads: use it as a finishing oil to lift fresh vegetables with a rich, roasted aroma.

Namul: an essential ingredient for authentic Korean namul, adding richness and fragrance.

Japchae: stir-fry the noodles with sesame oil for the classic savory, nutty flavor.

Steamed eggs (gyeran-jjim): a few drops before serving add warmth, aroma and a silky finish.

Storage guide: keep sesame oil at 15–25°C, it solidifies at 3–9°C

Keep it in the pantry, not the fridge

Sesame oil starts to solidify at 3–9°C (37–48°F), so store it in a cool, dark place at 15–25°C (59–77°F).

Keep the bottle tightly sealed and away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture to preserve its rich aroma and fresh flavor.
