Our story
The best Korean ingredients rarely leave Korea.
Daniel Oh and Katie Ok started Gochujar in 2019 after noticing something odd. Supermarkets abroad were full of mass-produced Korean brands, while the small producers we bought from at home — the ones making things in small batches, the way their families always have — had no way to reach anyone overseas.
So we became the bridge. We buy directly from those makers and ship from our base in Korea to kitchens around the world.
Behind every great ingredient is someone who has spent a lifetime perfecting it. We make sure the rest of the world gets to taste it.
