Import tax reduced to 10% (previously 15%)

Good news! Following recent updates to U.S.–South Korea tariff policy, the import tax on U.S. orders has dropped from 15% to 10%. This rate may change again depending on U.S. trade policy.

The 10% applies to product value only — shipping is excluded.

A 15% import tax now applies at checkout

Update: reduced to 10% on Mar 5, 2026 — see above.

Because of recent U.S. tariff policy changes, a 15% import tax is now charged at checkout on all U.S. orders.

It’s calculated automatically and shown under “Estimated Taxes” on the PayPal checkout page before you pay. It applies to product value only — shipping is excluded.

There are no additional charges during delivery. If U.S. import rules change, we’ll update the tax right away.

Shipping & delivery

How long does delivery to the U.S. take?

Most U.S. orders arrive in about 1 to 1.5 weeks.

How do I get free shipping?

Order two or more items and shipping is free. Single-item orders ship to the U.S. for a flat $5.

My tracking hasn’t updated. Is everything okay?

Usually, yes. Orders sent by Korea Post are tracked by Korea Post until they leave Korea, then by USPS — and USPS only starts updating once the parcel clears U.S. Customs, so a quiet stretch in between is normal. Orders sent by FedEx can be tracked on FedEx the whole way. If nothing changes for more than 2 weeks, email daniel@gochujar.com and we’ll look into it.

Can you deliver a gift to someone in Korea?

Yes — we’re asked this often! Enter the recipient’s address in English at checkout and we’ll convert it to Korean for delivery. Orders within Korea usually arrive in 2–3 days.

Payment

How do I use a discount code?

Enter it at the payment step. On mobile, you’ll find it in the last step of checkout under “Payment”. On desktop, it’s on the payment page right after your cart.

How do I use my store credit?

Log in, then open your cart. Choose your store credit from the drop-down menu and it’s applied to your order.

PayPal isn’t working for me. What can I do?

Email a screenshot of your cart to daniel@gochujar.com and we’ll send you a PayPal invoice you can pay in one click.

Reviews

How much store credit do I get for a review?

$1.50 for every product review. Your reviews help other shoppers decide, and they tell us which products are worth sourcing again. To leave one, click “Write Review” on the product page or use the link in your review email (it sometimes lands in spam).

Why are some reviews marked “verified” and others not?

Every review comes from a real customer. Some are imported from our international store, Gochujar Global, which serves customers outside the U.S. Those orders weren’t placed on this store, so they don’t carry the “verified” label.
