Shipping policy

Every order ships from Korea to the United States. Here's what shipping costs, how long it takes, and what to do if something goes wrong along the way.

At a glance

  • $5 shipping per order, or free when your order has 2 or more items.
  • Orders typically leave Korea within 1–3 business days.
  • Delivery typically takes 7–10 days.
  • U.S. import tax (10% of product value) is shown and paid at checkout.

Where we ship

Gochujar ships to the United States only. If you're outside the U.S., please shop at Gochujar Global, our sister store for every other country.

Shipping cost

Shipping is a flat $5 for an order with one item, and free when your order has two or more items. There are no surprise fees at checkout.

Processing and delivery

Orders typically leave Korea within 1–3 business days of the order date. If something is out of stock, we'll email you with the expected delay.

Delivery to the U.S. typically takes 7–10 days. This is an estimate: customs processing, carrier backlogs, holidays and weather can all add time.

Carriers and tracking

We ship with Korea Post or FedEx. Korea Post parcels are handed to USPS once they reach the U.S., and USPS delivers them to your door.

When your order ships, we'll email you a tracking number. It often lands in spam, so check there first. You can follow your parcel on our tracking page, which works for both Korea Post and FedEx numbers.

Larger orders may ship in several boxes, each with its own tracking number. If only part of your order arrives, check your email for the other tracking numbers.

Delays and lost parcels

Tracking often pauses while a parcel clears U.S. Customs or moves between hubs, and updates can appear all at once. If there's been no update for 3 weeks, email us and we'll open a trace with Korea Post. If the parcel is confirmed lost, you'll get a full refund. See our refund policy for details.

Shipping address

Please check your address before you order. If you spot a mistake before your order ships, update it in your account and email us right away. Once a parcel has shipped, we can't reroute it, but your local post office may be able to help with the tracking number.

Parcels returned to Korea

If a parcel can't be delivered and comes back to Korea, we can reship it once the new postage is paid, or give you a partial refund under our refund policy. The original postage is deducted, and returned food items can't be refunded.

Import tax and customs

U.S. orders include a 10% import tax, charged at checkout under current U.S. import rules. It applies to the product value only (not shipping), and you'll see it as "Estimated Taxes" before you pay.

Beyond that, there are usually no extra fees on delivery. We package carefully and fill in customs forms correctly to avoid them, but we can't guarantee it: any additional duties or fees charged on delivery are the customer's responsibility. Customs decisions are outside our control, and we can't refund products that Customs seizes, refuses or returns.
