Small Plates for Daily Korean Meals
[Kitchen Style] Handmade General Plates (Individual & Serving)
In Korea, no meal feels complete without an 앞접시 (apjeopsi)—your own personal serving plate. It’s the spot where you scoop your favorite banchans, cut into juicy kalbi, or let piping-hot stew ingredients cool before eating.
Unlike the oversized dinner plates of the West, these serving plates are just the right size—medium, practical, and perfectly suited for daily Korean meals.
Today, we present these individual serving plates (18cm) in natural gobaekja (ivory-white porcelain), designed to complement your Korean rice bowl and soup bowl. Elegant yet functional, they’re the everyday essentials you’ll reach for at every meal.
Each plate is handmade in Yeoju, Korea’s historic pottery town, using the traditional Buncheong technique. Shaped one by one and kiln-fired at high temperatures, they are strong, durable, and built for everyday use.
Beyond beauty, these plates are highly practical:
✅ Microwave safe
✅ Oven safe
✅ Dishwasher safe
✅ Stackable and easy to store
We also offer a large serving plate (27cm), perfect for communal dishes such as bulgogi, bossam, or other shareable recipes. Simply place it in the center of the dining table for everyone to enjoy.
The individual small plates are available in sets of 2.
The large serving plate is sold individually (1 piece).

Buncheong Pottery Design
Instead of using artificial glaze colors, this Buncheong pottery preserves the pure, natural white clay tone. Its understated hue blends effortlessly with any dish you serve.
Notice the tiny black specks across the soft white surface—like silver grains shimmering in a gentle stream. These appear naturally during the firing process, as the iron content in the clay reacts to the heat.
It is this unique characteristic of Buncheong pottery that gives it a truly Korean, natural beauty.
