[Gokmul Dogam] Kamut Oat High-Calcium Soy Milk, Unsweetened

Gokmul Dogam Kamut Oat High-Calcium Soy Milk (곡물도감 카무트 귀리 가득 고칼슘 두유) is an unsweetened Korean soy milk made with 97.35% Korean white-bean soy milk, blended with Kamut® brand wheat and Korean oats. It’s thick, nutty and ready to drink from the pouch.

Think of it as soy milk and oat milk in one. Each 180 mL pouch has 339 mg of calcium, 48% of the daily value and about 1.6 times what you’d get from the same amount of regular milk, with 0 g of sugar and just 80 kcal.

Like our Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk, it starts with whole Korean white soybeans, ground with a patented method that keeps the skins and pulp. Kamut®, an ancient grain first grown in Egypt, brings extra protein and minerals, and the oats round out the flavor.

What’s inside

White soybean soy milk 97.35% (made from 100% Korean white soybeans; 7% bean solids), Kamut® brand wheat puffed powder 1.75%, Korean oat powder 0.3%, seaweed calcium 0.42% and Korean sea salt. No added sugar, sweeteners, stabilizers, emulsifiers, thickeners or artificial flavors. Made with non-GMO beans. Contains soy and wheat (Kamut® is a type of wheat).

How to drink it

Shake the pouch well and drink it chilled or at room temperature. It’s also great in coffee, lattes and protein shakes, poured over granola, or as a base for kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup). To warm it, pour it into a microwave-safe cup first; don’t microwave the pouch.

What’s in the box

1 box contains 15 pouches of 180 mL. Each pouch has 80 kcal, 6.1 g protein, 339 mg calcium and 0 g sugars. Made in South Korea.

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. For the best taste, chill in refrigerator before drinking. Do not freeze, as freezing may cause clumping. Drink immediately after opening. The best-before date is printed at the top of each pouch.

Good to know

Gokmul Dogam became very popular in Korea after Hong Jin-kyung, the South Korean model and TV host, revealed she’d been drinking this soy milk every day for three years. The brand then invited her on board, and she’s now its official ambassador.

Common questions

Is it sweet?
No. There’s no sugar or sweetener at all. It tastes rich and nutty, with a toasty note from the Kamut® and oats.

How is it different from the Extra-Rich soy milk?
Both use Korean white soybeans. This one adds Kamut® wheat, Korean oats and seaweed calcium for a lighter, nuttier taste and 339 mg of calcium per pouch. The Extra-Rich is pure soy milk, made even thicker.

Does it need to be refrigerated?
Not before opening. Still, we suggest keeping it in the fridge once it arrives, because it tastes best chilled.

Close-up of the ingredient label showing 97.35% white-bean soy milk

Real soy milk, not soy extract

Check the back of the pack: the base is 97.35% soy milk made from Korean white soybeans, not soy extract or soy milk concentrate. All the freshness of the beans stays in.

Korean non-GMO white soybeans

100% Korean non-GMO white soybeans

Non-GMO means the beans are grown naturally, without changing their size or taste through genetic modification.

Upland field beans compared with paddy beans

Not all beans are equal

Gokmul Dogam uses firm, well-filled beans from cool upland fields rather than softer, watery paddy beans. They’re packed with nutrients and make a richer, nuttier soy milk.

Gokmul Dogam soy milk compared with ordinary soy milk

Thicker than ordinary soy milk

Side by side with regular soy milk, the difference shows. Gokmul Dogam’s is thick, creamy and full of body.

Q&A

Q1. When is the best time to drink it?

Any time. There’s no set time, so have it wherever and whenever suits you.

Q2. Is it sweet?

No. There’s no sugar or sweetener of any kind (0 g sugars). It tastes rich and nutty from the beans, Kamut® and oats.

Q3. How much calcium does it have?

Each 180 mL pouch has 339 mg of calcium, 48% of the daily value and about 1.6 times the calcium in the same amount of regular milk.

Q4. Does it contain wheat?

Yes. Kamut® is an ancient variety of wheat, so this soy milk contains wheat and isn’t suitable if you have a wheat allergy.

Q5. Can children or pregnant women drink it?

Anyone can enjoy it, but pregnant women, older adults and young children can have more sensitive guts than most adults, so please check with a doctor first.

Q6. Why does it last so long without preservatives?

It’s sterilized and aseptically packed, so it keeps without additives or preservatives. Because there are no preservatives or stabilizers, drink it right after opening.

Q7. The soy milk has small lumps. Is it OK?

If it’s kept somewhere very cold for a long time, the natural plant protein can firm up. Store it away from very cold spots and don’t freeze it.

Q8. Can I drink it warm?

Yes. Don’t microwave it in the pouch; pour it into a microwave-safe cup first.

Q9. Where is this made - South Korea?

All products on Gochujar are proudly made in South Korea, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
