Extra-Thick, Unsweetened Korean Kongmul

[Gokmul Dogam] Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk, Unsweetened

Gokmul Dogam Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk (곡물도감 무가당 더 진한 맷돌 콩물두유) is a thick, unsweetened soy milk made with Korean white soybeans. It’s ready to drink straight from the pouch.

If you’ve had kongguksu, Korea’s cold soybean noodle soup, you know the appeal of a rich, creamy kongmul. This has that same satisfying thickness, with a clean finish.

Why it’s so thick

Gokmul Dogam roasts top-grade Korean white soybeans, then grinds them twice on a traditional Korean millstone. The skins and pulp stay in, giving the soy milk its full-bodied texture.

Nothing is added but a pinch of sea salt: no sugar, no sweeteners, no stabilizers.

If you already like our Gokmul Dogam Seoritae Soy Milk, this is its classic white-bean sibling: milder, creamier and thicker. It’s also great for making kongguksu (콩국수) at home.

What’s inside

White soybean milk 99.7% (100% Korean white soybeans, 8.5% bean solids) and Korean sea salt. That’s it. Non-GMO, top-grade beans. Contains soy.

How to drink it

Shake the pouch well, then drink it straight, pour it over granola, or use it as the base for kongguksu. To warm it, pour it into a microwave-safe cup first; don’t microwave the pouch.

What’s in the box

15 pouches of 180 mL. Each pouch has 86 kcal, 8 g protein and 0.7 g natural sugars.

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. For the best taste, chill in refrigerator before drinking. Do not freeze, as freezing may cause clumping. Drink immediately after opening. The best-before date is printed at the top of each pouch.

Good to know

Gokmul Dogam became very popular in Korea after Hong Jin-kyung, the South Korean model and TV host, revealed she’d been drinking this soy milk every day for three years. The brand then invited her on board, and she’s now its official ambassador.

Common questions

Is it sweet?
No. There’s no sugar or sweetener of any kind. It tastes nutty and clean, with just 0.7 g of natural sugars from the beans.

How is it different from the Seoritae soy milk?
The Seoritae soy milk is made from black seoritae beans. This one uses Korean white soybeans, ground twice on a millstone, for a thicker, milder, classic kongmul taste.

Does it need to be refrigerated?
Not before opening. It’s sterilized and aseptically packed, so it keeps at room temperature without preservatives.

[Gokmul Dogam] Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk, Unsweetened

Gokmul Dogam Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk pouch beside a glass of soy milk

Soy milk you can almost chew

Gokmul Dogam's thickest soy milk yet. 100% Korean white soybeans are stone-ground whole, with nothing added but a pinch of sea salt. Each pouch gives you 8 g of protein for just 86 kcal.

Thick soy milk poured over noodles for kongguksu

As rich as your favourite kongguksu spot

Korea's best kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup) restaurants are famous for their thick, nutty broth. This is that kongmul, ready in a pouch, no queue required.

Soybeans being ground on a millstone

Pulp and skins, ground right in

Most soy milk strains out the okara (bean pulp) and skins. Here the beans are ground whole on a millstone, so all of it ends up in the pouch.

Thick soy milk being poured into a glass

No added sweetness, just beans

No sugar, no sweeteners. What you taste is the natural, toasty flavour of top-grade Korean beans.

The four key points of Gokmul Dogam Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk

Four things that make it different

  • Whole-bean millstone method: skins and pulp included
  • 100% Korean, top-grade, non-GMO white soybeans
  • Unsweetened, with zero chemical additives
  • 8 g protein in just 86 kcal per pouch
Gokmul Dogam's five soy milks: Seoritae, 21-Grain Seoritae, Matcha Seoritae, Kamut Oat and High-Fiber

Six soy milks, one for every taste

Gokmul Dogam makes six kongmul soy milks. Three are made with seoritae, the Korean black soybean, and three with Korean white soybeans (baektae). Here’s how they compare:

Soy milk flowing from a stone millstone

Ground twice on a millstone

The same beans can taste very different depending on how finely they're ground. Top-grade beans go through the millstone twice, so the depth is there from the very first sip.

Point 1 from Gokmul Dogam.

Gokmul Dogam's patent certificate for its millstone system

A patented millstone system

Gokmul Dogam's automatic millstone system can control the particle size of the beans, a patented method developed from 15 years of soy milk research. It's what lets the whole bean, skins and pulp, become a smooth drink.

Soybeans roasting in a large pan

Step 1: roasted first

The beans are roasted at just the right temperature to bring out their aroma and protect their nutrients. Roasted beans cook evenly and grind much more softly.

Gokmul Dogam soy milk pouches on the production line

Step 2: sealed and sterilized

Freshly made soy milk is packed in a sealed environment and sterilized at the same time, so the rich body and flavour stay locked in.

Soybeans dropping into a glass

Step 3: premium, every time

Deep nuttiness in every mouthful and a satisfying thickness as it goes down. That's the standard every batch is held to.

Soy milk poured into a glass: 99.7% white soybean milk, 8 g protein, unsweetened

100% Korean white soybeans

Baektae, Korea's classic yellow-white soybean, is the only bean in here: 99.7% white soybean milk, made from 100% Korean beans with 8.5% bean solids.

Hand opening a dried soybean pod in the field

It starts with where the beans grow

Not all beans are equal. These come from Korean upland fields, where beans have grown for generations, and they're farmed the natural way, non-GMO.

Point 2 from Gokmul Dogam.

A farmer holding a Gokmul Dogam pouch over a scoop of soybeans

No additives. Only Korean top-grade beans.

The flavour doesn't come from anything added. It comes from the beans.

Korean soybean grading pyramid with top grade at the peak

Only the top grade

Korean soybeans are graded from third grade up to top grade. Gokmul Dogam uses only top-grade white soybeans, rich in plant protein and isoflavones, with fibre and oligosaccharides that keep you comfortably full.

Grading based on Korean agricultural product inspection standards.

Spoon comparison: regular soy milk versus Gokmul Dogam soy milk

Thicker, yet cleaner tasting

Side by side with regular soy milk, the difference is easy to see: a thicker body that coats the spoon, with a clean, mild finish.

Paddy-field beans compared with premium upland beans

Why upland beans taste deeper

Beans grown in wet paddy fields tend to be lower in nutrient density. Upland beans that grow through drier, tougher conditions are firmer, and firmer beans make a deeper, more concentrated soy milk.

Close-up of the ingredient label: white soybean milk 99.7%

Not extract, not concentrate

Plenty of soy milk is made from soy extract or soy milk concentrate. The label here reads white soybean milk 99.7%, made from 100% Korean white soybeans.

Checklist: no stabilizers or other additives

Five things it doesn't have

No stabilizers, no emulsifiers, no thickeners, no artificial flavours and no sweeteners. Just what a family can drink with peace of mind.

Point 3 from Gokmul Dogam.

Hand holding a Gokmul Dogam Extra-Rich Stone-Ground Soy Milk pouch

Not a pinch of sugar

Customers often say the same thing on the first sip: it's clean and rich, and it tastes like real kongmul without any sugar at all.

Thick soy milk pouring into a glass

8 g protein, only 86 kcal

High protein means little if a drink is heavy or hard to digest. Grinding the whole bean, skins and all, gives a balance you can enjoy every day.

Point 4 from Gokmul Dogam.

Drinking soy milk in the morning, after exercise and at night

Morning, after a workout, late at night

Have it as a quick breakfast, after the gym, or instead of a late-night snack. It's light on the stomach any time of day.

Kongguksu made with Gokmul Dogam soy milk

Kongguksu, no sugar needed

Pour a pouch straight over cooked somyeon noodles or tofu noodles and your table becomes a kongguksu restaurant.

Salad dressing, tofu and granola made with soy milk

Beyond the glass

Blend it into a creamy, sugar-free salad dressing, make simple homemade tofu, or pour it over granola for a filling breakfast.

Q&A

Q1. When is the best time to drink it?

Any time you like. There's no set time, and it's filling enough for a quick breakfast or a snack between meals.

Q2. How is it different from the Seoritae soy milk?

Our Gokmul Dogam Seoritae Soy Milk is made from black seoritae beans. This one uses 100% Korean white soybeans (baektae), ground twice on a millstone for an even thicker, milder, classic kongmul taste. Both are unsweetened.

Q3. Is it sweet?

No. There's no sugar and no sweetener of any kind, just 0.7 g of natural sugars from the beans. It tastes nutty and clean.

Q4. Why do I need to shake it?

Because it's real, whole-bean soy milk, the natural bean solids settle to the bottom. Give the pouch a good shake before drinking. Keep it at room temperature and don't freeze it, as very cold temperatures can make it clump.

Q5. How does it keep so long without preservatives?

It's sterilized and aseptically packed, so it keeps without preservatives. Once opened, drink it straight away.

Q6. Can I drink it warm?

Yes. Don't microwave it in the pouch; pour it into a microwave-safe cup first. If a thin skin forms on top as it heats, that's natural bean protein (like yuba).

Q7. Can children or pregnant women drink it?

It's a food, not a supplement, so anyone can enjoy it. If you're pregnant, or buying for young children or older family members with health concerns, check with your doctor first. It contains soy.

Q8. Where is this made - South Korea?

All products on Gochujar are proudly made in South Korea, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
