Korean chopsticks are quite different from the ones used in China, Japan or Vietnam. Most Asian chopsticks are made of wood or bamboo. Korean chopsticks have traditionally been made of iron, and today, stainless steel.
Metalwork has played a central role in Korean crafts since the Bronze Age, which is why metal became the material for everyday utensils. Korean chopsticks are also flat, not round, so they lie still on the table instead of rolling around.
Tackaon (탁가온) gives that tradition a modern touch. Designed by Seungyong Song, the spoon has a simple, distinctive head that’s well proportioned to its long handle, and it doesn’t feel heavy in the hand. Just right for everyday Korean meals.
The set comes in two finishes: matte, which is non-reflective, and glossy, which shines like a mirror. If you’re having trouble deciding, we prefer the matte.
If you cook Korean food at home regularly, a good set of stainless steel spoons and chopsticks is worth having. Made in Korea, they last a lifetime.
So what’s inside?
Materials SUS304 stainless steel (the same grade as AISI 304, or 18/8), in a matte (non-reflective) or glossy (reflective) finish.
In the box 4 or 6 sets, each with one spoon and one pair of chopsticks, in gift-ready packaging. Spoon: 22.3 cm long with a 4 cm head. Chopsticks: 23 cm long. 44 g each. Designed by Seungyong Song and made by Tackaon in South Korea.
Care Wash well before first use. Dishwasher safe, but we recommend washing by hand, since strong water pressure can leave fine scratches. Use the soft side of the sponge on the glossy finish.
Good to know Small scratches or marks from the manufacturing process can occur and aren’t grounds for a refund. If you notice any polishing residue, wipe it off with cooking oil and baking soda (2:1), then rinse with mild dish soap and lukewarm water.

Seungyong Song was selected as Korea’s first “Designer of the Future” and has won several international honors, including the iF Design Award. His work has been exhibited around the world, including at the Museum of Decorative Arts at the Louvre in Paris, and he has been named one of Korea’s influential next-generation leaders.

Before first use
Stainless steel can carry traces of polishing residue from manufacturing, so wash everything well before you use it.
If any residue remains, mix cooking oil and baking soda 2:1, wipe the surface gently with a kitchen towel, then rinse with mild dish soap and lukewarm water.
Wash the glossy utensils with the soft side of the sponge, so the mirror finish doesn’t scratch.
Small scratches or marks from the manufacturing process can occur. They don’t count as damage for a refund.
