Yes, it comes in a can. But don’t let that scare you! It’s fresh perilla leaves that have been delicately pickled in Sempio’s renowned Soy Sauce, along with a hint of garlic and a touch of gochugaru. The reason we love this product is the taste of the soy-sauce marinade. It has the right balance of umami, garlic and spice. But most importantly, it's not overly salty. (Often times, store-bought perilla kimchi tastes way too salty!) Sempio nailed the pickling sauce with this product.

Note: The Spicy version is not that spicy. It has just slightly more gochugaru added to the pickling sauce. If you're having trouble picking between the two, try the original flavor first.

By itself, it's too salty to eat (after all, it's pickled in soy sauce). Koreans like to eat it with hot rice and other banchans.
Yes, the leaves have aged and soaked in the soy sauce. That's what makes it so tasty!
It's slightly spicier than the normal version. They add a little more gochugaru into the soy sauce mix. (But it won't make you sweat ;-)
After opening the can, finish it in one serving. But if you want to save leftovers, place in the refrigerator with saran wrap.
