[Kisoondo] Traditional Gochujang

Today, we introduce one of our best-selling, artisan-made Gochujang!

This is Kisoondo's Traditional Gochujang.

Unlike factory-made gochujang, this paste is made with only natural ingredients:

Glutinous Rice (35%), Gochugaru (25%), Meju Powder (20%), Roasted Bamboo Salt (10%), Soy Sauce (5%), Malt (5%)

In Spring, barley is harvested and malted. In Summer, soybean and glutinous rice are fermented and turned into meju powder. In Winter, all of the ingredients are brought together, and mixed with gochugaru.

The gochujang is then left to rest and ferment in large Korean Hanggari pots for 6 months.

The dedication to each ingredient is Kisoondo's secret to making one of Korea's best gochujang!

This gochujang has a deep, piquant spice with a slightly-earthy sweetness.

It contains no preservatives, additives, refined sugar or MSG.

If you want to try an all-natural, traditional Gochujang, this is it!

Available in 3 sizes: 230g, 320g & 500g

Things happen

Very well packaged, no chance of fracture, but the foil that seals in the paste had come off and the paste was all over the bottle. But half a bottle is better than none I guess

Excellent gochujang

I live in Los Angeles and it’s incredibly difficult to find authentic made in Korea gochujang. I didn’t even know this was a thing until my mother and MIL talked about how 99% of gochujang sold on Korean market shelves is made in China. Sure enough I looked at my container in the fridge and it said product of China. Ew no thanks. So glad I found Gochujar. It’s pricey but now I can use my gochujang in recipes for my family with confidence. No toxic metals or hazardous chemicals. It tastes delicious. Shipping was relatively quick considering it came all the way from Korea. Will definitely order more. Thank you!

So good!

Even at stores like H Mart in Westchester, NY, it is hard to get excellent gochujang. What they have are the commercially made products. This is the real thing and it is so wonderful. It has a natural sweetness that balances the heat and the complexity of fermentation that only an artisanal product can produce. What a pleasure to have access to this.
