Made from 100% Perilla Seeds
[Gae Seong] Pure Perilla Oil
Gae Seong is a regional Korean brand producing 100% Pure Perilla Oil.
This perilla oil is made from untoasted perilla seeds. That's why you see a vibrant golden-yellow color. Whereas, many of its competitors toast their perilla seeds to create a nuttier flavor. However, toasting the perilla seeds also causes alot of the nutrition to be lost via the heat. So Gae Seong cold-presses its untoasted seeds (only once) to extract a pure, premium-tasting perilla oil.
This perilla oil works beautifully as a finishing oil for banchans, bibimbap, salads or sautéed dishes. Many homecooks like to use perilla oil as a substitute to sesame oil, as it contains more Omega-3 (ALA) than any other seed oils! If you want to take bibimbap to the next level, try drizzling this oil over the top!
Note: Gae Seong imports its perilla seeds from China and presses them in Korea.

Is Perilla Oil Healthy?
Yes - Perilla oil has a very high omega-3 fatty acid content (more than 50 percent fatty acid). That's more than any other seed-based oil! To be specific, the omega-3 content in perilla oil is Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA), which can be found in flaxseed and fish oil.
Perilla oil also contains the vital omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. These polyunsaturated fatty acids are beneficial to your health — especially for normal immune system functioning — and have been linked to improving memory-related conditions.
