These mini chews are made with rice syrup - instead of sugar. Rice syrup (known as Jochung in Korean) is often used to sweeten Korean dishes. It's made 100% naturally from rice and malt barley. Unlike white sugar, it's made without chemical or artificial refinement. This rice syrup is then mixed with premium-grade sesame seeds (sourced from Yeonnam-dong) and molded into mini squares.
The mini chews are not overly sweet and offer a hint of sesame flavor. They are individually wrapped in gold-colored paper and presented in a (very) cute box.

Rice Syrup is made from 98.8% rice and 1.2% malt:
Malt Barley is first soaked in water. The residual water that floats to the top is collected.
Rice is cooked separately and the residual water is added to the cooked rice.
After the mixture cools, the two are stirred until it becomes thick & sticky - into a syrup!
